The S-MM2H program is open to citizens from countries with diplomatic relations with Malaysia, except for Israel and North Korea. When applying, you must declare your country of origin and any additional citizenships.

Minimum Stay Requirement

To maintain eligibility, participants must stay in Sarawak for at least 30 cumulative days per year. This flexible policy allows you to enjoy the beauty of Sarawak while balancing other commitments.

Financial Requirements

The financial requirements are designed to ensure participants can maintain a comfortable lifestyle while contributing to the local economy. Here’s a breakdown:

Fixed Deposit

Participants must deposit RM500,000 in a local Sarawak bank. After one year, you can withdraw up to 50% of the deposit for specific purposes, including:

  • Purchasing a residential property.
  • Buying a car.
  • Covering medical expenses.
  • Funding your children’s education in Sarawak.

This provision offers flexibility and ensures your funds work for you.

    • Individuals: RM10,000 per month.
    • Dependents: RM15,000 per month.
  • Non-Pension Income:

    • Dependents: RM200,000 per year.

These income levels ensure participants can sustain a high quality of life in Sarawak.

Participants aged 30 and above have the option to invest in property. Minimum property values are:

  • RM600,000 in Kuching.
  • RM500,000 in other divisions of Sarawak.

You can sell your property after just 5 years, offering both flexibility and investment potential.

While the program restricts full-time employment, it provides opportunities for part-time work and investments:

  • Part-Time Work: Participants can work up to 20 hours per week in professional sectors approved by ILMU.
  • Joint Ventures (JVs): Participants can be sleeping partners in businesses, holding up to 49% ownership with a minimum investment of RM250,000. Approved sectors include:

    • Manufacturing
    • Medical Services

These options allow participants to contribute to Sarawak’s economy while enjoying a relaxed lifestyle.
